In the twelfth episode of the 27th season of Antiques Roadshow, the team travels to Idaho for the Idaho Botanical Garden Hour 1. The show opens with a stunning view of the Garden, a 33-acre oasis of beauty nestled in the Boise foothills.

The first item appraised is a collection of signed and numbered prints by the artist, R.C. Gorman. The owner inherited the prints from her mother, who acquired them during the 1970s. Expert Debra Force is fascinated by the collection, noting that Gorman was a well-known artist who inspired a Native American art revival during the 1960s and 1970s. She is impressed by the condition of the prints, which are all in excellent shape. Debra estimates the collection is worth between $5,000 and $7,000.

Next, jewelry appraiser Peter Shemonsky is captivated by a rare and magnificent piece of jewelry—a silver and turquoise necklace made by the famous Navajo artisan Harry Morgan. The owner purchased the necklace in 1978 while traveling in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The necklace features hand-cut and polished turquoise stones set in a classic squash blossom design. Peter is blown away by the quality of the piece, noting that Harry Morgan jewelry is highly sought after by collectors. Peter appraises the necklace at $20,000 to $30,000.

The show takes a brief diversion as one guest shows off a 1966 Schwinn Stingray bike that he found in a ditch and restored. Christopher Mitchell, a bicycle appraiser, is amused by the find but notes that it would lack the original components needed to increase its value. Regardless, the owner is delighted to have restored the bike and to have added it to his collection.

The next item is a fascinating piece of pottery linked to longtime Antiques Roadshow expert, Don Schreckengost. A woman presents a pottery vase that she believes was created by her great-grandfather who lived in Ada County, Idaho in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Don notes that the vase is marked "SJS," which stands for Simeon Schenck (1868-1943). Don is excited to see the vase, noting that Simeon was a talented and sought-after potter who lived and worked in the area at the time. Don appraises the vase at $4,000 to $6,000 and suggests that the owner could donate the piece to a local museum to honor her great-grandfather's legacy.

Finally, furniture appraiser Peter L. Cook is wowed by a pair of intricate wooden carvings from the late 1800s. The owner inherited the carvings from her grandmother, who obtained them during a trip to Europe in the early 1900s. Peter notes that the carvings are made from boxwood, a renowned material for carving in northern Europe. He adds that the details of the carvings are impressive and that the style of the carvings suggest that they were made in Belgium, perhaps in the Meuse Valley. Peter appraises the carvings at $7,000 to $9,000.

Overall, the Idaho Botanical Garden Hour 1 is a fascinating and diverse exploration of unique items with compelling stories and fascinating histories.
