In this episode of Cheap Eats season 3, host Ali Khan takes us on a culinary adventure through Cincinnati, Ohio. Known for its hearty and flavorful cuisine, Cincinnati is a city that takes pride in its food culture, and Ali is eager to explore all that it has to offer.

The first stop on his itinerary is Main Bite, a cafe that specializes in gourmet sandwiches. Ali samples the fried chicken sandwich, which comes loaded with bacon, cheddar cheese and homemade pickles. He also tries the vegetarian option, which is made with roasted vegetables and served on a ciabatta roll. Both sandwiches are affordable and delicious, with just the right amount of crunch and flavor.

Next up is Just Q'in BBQ, where Ali meets owner Matt Cuff and tries a variety of barbecued meats. He tries the brisket, which is smoked for 12 hours and falls apart on the fork, as well as the pulled pork and ribs. All the meats are tender and juicy, with a generous slathering of barbecue sauce that adds a tangy sweetness to the meat.

Ali then heads to Holtman's Donuts, a local institution that has been serving up freshly-made donuts since 1960. He samples a maple-bacon donut, as well as an original glazed, both of which are fluffy and flavorful. The maple-bacon donut is a standout, with a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavors.

For lunch, Ali visits Blue Ash Chili, a classic Cincinnati establishment that has been serving up "five-way" chili since 1969. The dish is made with spaghettini, chili sauce, cheddar cheese, beans and onions, and is topped with a dollop of sour cream. Ali also tries the chili cheese fries, which are loaded with chili, cheese and jalapeno peppers. Both dishes are hearty and filling, perfect for a cold winter's day.

Ali's next stop is Eli's BBQ, a food truck that has gained a cult following in Cincinnati for its smoked meats. He tries the pulled pork sandwich, which comes with tangy barbecue sauce and a side of coleslaw. He also tries the brisket, which is smoked for 18 hours and melts in your mouth. The meat is so tender, it practically falls apart on the fork.

Finally, Ali visits the BonBonerie, a bakery that specializes in French pastries and treats. He tries the macarons, which come in a variety of flavors like pistachio, raspberry and lavender. He also samples the opera cake, which is a layered cake made with almond sponge cake, espresso buttercream, and chocolate ganache. Both desserts are delicate and delicious, a perfect end to a day of indulgence.

Throughout the episode, Ali meets with chefs and food experts who share their knowledge and passion for the local food scene. Cincinnati may not be a well-known food destination, but after watching this episode, you'll be itching to try all the delicious food it has to offer.
