Cutthroat Kitchen Tournaments Season 1 Episode 4 Superstar Sabotage: Heat Four
- October 29, 2014
In Cutthroat Kitchen Tournaments season 1 episode 4, titled Superstar Sabotage: Heat Four, four highly acclaimed chefs compete in a series of rounds where they must not only prepare a delectable dish but also outwit their opponents with strategically-placed sabotages. Host Alton Brown is back to guide the contestants through the madness and make sure that the bidding never gets out of hand.
The first round challenges the chefs to prepare a dish using only mashed potatoes. To make matters even more challenging, they must retrieve their ingredients from a spinning potato bin and use only tiny, child-sized utensils to cook with. One chef is sabotaged with an electric hand mixer that they must use to puree their potatoes. Another chef must balance a potato on their head while they cook. The remaining contestants struggle to complete their dishes within the time limit, but ultimately one chef is eliminated based on the judges' critique of their dish.
In the second round, the remaining three chefs are tasked with making a burger with cheese, bacon, and a fried egg. However, they must also contend with sabotages such as having to use a tiny grill the size of a toaster oven, cooking upside down, and having to wear a burger costume while they prepare their dish. One chef is even required to cook their burger on an actual car engine. As the contestants battle it out, they must also strategize how to use their remaining funds to remove their opponents' advantages. At the end of the round, another chef is eliminated, leaving just two to compete in the final round.
The final round features the remaining chefs having to prepare a dessert using a deep fryer. However, they must also incorporate a sabotaged ingredient such as canned pumpkin, beef jerky, or beets. To add even more pressure, the contestants must also compete while standing on a giant scale that displays their current weight. If they gain too much weight during the round, they will be eliminated. In a final flurry of activity, the two remaining chefs battle it out to see who will be crowned the winner of this Cutthroat Kitchen Tournament.
Throughout the episode, the chefs showcase their culinary skills and creative problem-solving abilities as they navigate the sabotages thrown their way. Alton Brown adds his signature commentary and humor to the proceedings, keeping the tension high and the laughs flowing. Fans of Cutthroat Kitchen and competitive cooking shows will not want to miss Superstar Sabotage: Heat Four.
