Ep 17. Oh Brother!

Cybill's long-lost brother, Dick, comes to visit and causes a stir in her life. Dick is an eccentric artist who is not afraid to speak his mind and can be very meddlesome. Cybill is initially thrilled to learn that she has a brother, but soon realizes that he is not exactly what she imagined a sibling to be. Dick's arrival coincides with Cybill's birthday, and he decides to throw her a surprise party at Maryanne's bar. However, the party quickly becomes chaotic when Dick invites all of his artist friends, who cause a mess and get drunk. Meanwhile, Kevin is feeling unappreciated and unchallenged in his job as a TV writer, and he becomes jealous of the attention that Dick is getting from Cybill. He decides to quit his job and pursue his dream of becoming a novelist, much to Cybill's dismay. In the end, Cybill confronts Dick about his behavior and they come to a better understanding of each other. Kevin also decides to stay at his job after Cybill encourages him to keep working and chasing his dreams. The episode ends with a heartwarming moment of the family coming together to celebrate Cybill's birthday.
