Ep 2. Was It Too Small?

DearS season 1 episode 2, named "Was It Too Small?" begins right where the last episode left off. Ren, who was found unconscious by Takeya, has now awoken in his apartment. Takeya is surprised to see that Ren has no clothes and is completely naked. Ren is not aware of any social norms and takes Takeya's request for clothes as a form of punishment. Takeya is frustrated and amused at the same time, as he has to convince Ren that she is not being punished, but rather is supposed to wear clothes.

While trying to find clothes for Ren, Takeya realizes that they may not have any clothes that fit her due to Ren's petite body. Takeya is surprised and makes a remark about her body size which is overheard by Ren. Ren misunderstands Takeya's words and feels sad that she is not meeting his expectations about her body size. Takeya realizes what he has done and tries to make it up to her, but Ren is still feeling down.

The next day, both Takeya and Ren go to school. While at the school, they encounter many students who are also DearS and are informed about the different classes and activities available in school. Ren is amazed at the different things she sees and wants to take part in everything. However, due to her lack of knowledge, Ren ends up causing trouble in class, much to the annoyance of the teacher and other students.

Later on, the class goes on a field trip to a local park, where Ren finds a toy airplane which she finds very amusing. She begins playing with the toy airplane, much to the dismay of the other students who are taking the trip seriously. When Takeya tries to give Ren some advice, she misunderstands him once again and runs away. Takeya then goes after her and finds her crying by the river.

Takeya feels bad about what he said earlier and tries to make it up to Ren. He reassures her that he did not mean what he said and that he is happy with her. Ren finally understands his intentions and forgives him. She then surprises Takeya by finding the toy airplane he lost when he was young.

The episode ends with Ren and Takeya returning to the school, where they encounter a mysterious man in the schoolyard who seems to be watching Ren. The episode leaves the audience with a cliffhanger as to who this man could be and what he wants from Ren.

Overall, "Was It Too Small?" is a great episode that continues the story from the previous episode. It gives an insight into the characters and their relationships, especially between Ren and Takeya. There are also some interesting hints towards future plot points, making it a must-watch episode for fans of the series.
