Ep 12. Pubs and Grub

In season 15 episode 12 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri is exploring the world of pub food. This episode, titled "Pubs and Grub," takes viewers on a journey through some of the best pubs and breweries around the country.

The first stop on the tour is a pub in Charleston, SC that's serving up traditional English-style fish and chips. Guy meets with the owner who shares his love for cooking and appreciation for bringing a piece of England to the United States. Next, he heads to a brewery in Portland, OR where they're cooking up some unique pub fare, like a burger topped with bacon jam and another with homemade peanut butter. Guy also tries their award-winning beer and learns about the brewing process.

Moving on to Denver, CO, Guy visits a pub that prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients and making everything from scratch. He tries their smoked pork shoulder and gets a behind-the-scenes look at their in-house charcuterie program. Then, he heads to a Chicago, IL pub that's known for their Irish-inspired dishes. Guy tries their corned beef and cabbage egg rolls and a sandwich topped with Guinness-braised beef.

In Louisville, KY, Guy stops at a pub that's also a favorite among locals. They're famous for their hot browns, a traditional Kentucky dish consisting of turkey, bacon, and Mornay cheese sauce. Guy learns about the history of the dish and how to make it from scratch. Finally, he lands in San Francisco, CA, where he visits a pub that's been around for over 100 years. They're serving up classic pub fare like bangers and mash as well as their famous hangover burger.

Throughout the episode, Guy learns about the history behind each pub he visits and meets with the owners and chefs who are bringing a unique twist to classic pub food. Viewers will be inspired to try new dishes on their next visit to their local brewpub or neighborhood watering hole.
