Ep 1. Tacos and Tots

Guy Fieri kicks off the 17th season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with an episode dedicated to two comfort food classics: tacos and tots. First, he heads to Nashville, Tennessee to check out Mas Tacos Por Favor, a no-frills taco joint with a cult following. Here, Guy tries the infamous beef brisket taco and learns about the unique ingredients that make Mas Tacos stand out from the rest.

Next, Guy visits Fort Worth, Texas to visit a family-owned spot called Salsa Limon, where they serve up traditional Mexican street tacos with a modern twist. Guy samples a variety of tacos, including the spicy chicken mole and the unique vegetarian option, the mushroom and huitlacoche.

Afterwards, Guy travels to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to visit the Grey Lodge Pub, home to some of the best tater tots in the city. He talks with owner Mike "Scoats" Scotese about the pub's famous tots and tries them in different dishes like the tater tot breakfast poutine and the Guinness-braised short rib tots.

Finally, Guy visits a trendy gastropub in Denver, Colorado called Acorn, where he tries the restaurant's elevated take on tater tots. Chef Ian Palazzola shows Guy how they make their famous pork belly tater tots and serves up a creative dish featuring tots topped with rabbit ragu and pickled mustard seeds.

Throughout the episode, Guy learns about the passion and creativity that goes into making these classic comfort foods and explores the unique twists that each restaurant puts on these dishes.
