In the Island Flavor episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives from the 2014 season, host Guy Fieri heads to various eateries across the United States that specialize in tropical cuisine.

First up is a stop in St. Petersburg, Florida where Fieri visits a family-owned restaurant serving up Puerto Rican-style sandwiches and fresh fruit smoothies. He then heads to Dallas, Texas to check out a restaurant specializing in Jamaican jerk chicken. Fieri gets to witness the jerk chicken being made from scratch and tries it out for himself, along with some traditional Jamaican sides like plantains and rice and peas.

Next, Fieri travels to Kansas City, Missouri to check out a family-owned restaurant that serves up traditional Hawaiian food. He gets to sample some of their popular dishes like poke, kalua pork, and spam musubi.

Fieri then heads to Chasuk Restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina for some authentic Filipino food. He tries out a variety of dishes like pancit, adobo, and lumpia, and even helps the chef prepare some lechon, a roasted pig dish commonly served at celebrations.

Finally, Fieri heads to Maui, Hawaii to check out a food stand selling traditional Hawaiian shaved ice. The stand has been in business for over 30 years and offers a variety of flavors and toppings, including a popular combination of shaved ice and sweetened condensed milk.

Throughout the episode, Fieri highlights the unique flavors and ingredients used in each cuisine, as well as the stories and traditions behind the restaurants themselves. Viewers get a taste of the diverse range of tropical cuisine found across the United States, from Puerto Rican sandwiches to Hawaiian shaved ice.
