From Biscuits to Brisket is the fifth episode of Season 23 of the popular food show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. In this episode, host Guy Fieri travels to three different locations across the United States to taste some of the most delicious and unique dishes the country has to offer.

The first location is The Blue Door Kitchen & Garden in Chicago, Illinois. Here, Guy meets with chef Art Smith who serves up his signature Southern-inspired cuisine. Guy tries a range of dishes, including the spicy fried chicken sandwich and the classic biscuits and gravy, both of which are made with Art Smith's secret recipe. Next, they make a quick detour to the Butch McGuire's bar, which has become a local legend for its excellent burgers and other pub fare.

The second stop on the journey takes Guy to Dallas, Texas, where he visits Lockhart Smokehouse. This restaurant is famous for its slow-cooked, Texas-style barbecue, and Guy gets a close-up look at the process as he learns about the wood-fired pit and the various cuts of meat that are on offer. He samples some of Lockhart's savory and mouth-watering brisket, sausage and pork ribs, which are all cooked low and slow for optimal tenderness and flavor. During his visit, Guy also gets a lesson in how to eat barbecue like a pro, learning about the different styles of sauces, seasonings, and sides that complement the smoky meat.

The final destination in From Biscuits to Brisket is Los Angeles, California, where Guy goes to Chef Marilyn's Soul Food Express. This small restaurant serves up classic comfort food dishes with a twist of soulful flavor. Guy gets a taste of Chef Marilyn's famous fried chicken wings topped with a sweet and spicy sauce, as well as her famous candied yams, mac and cheese, and peach pot pie. Guy also meets members of Marilyn's family, who help to keep the restaurant running smoothly and maintain the tradition of home-cooked, soulful food passed down through generations.

Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to stunning shots of the food being prepared and presented, as well as interviews with the chefs and restaurant owners who share their passion for creating unique and delicious dishes. Guy's enthusiasm for food and his easy rapport with his guests make for an entertaining and informative viewing experience.
