Guy Fieri continues his culinary expedition in the 27th season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, exploring the best local eats across America. In episode 11 "Island and Desert," Guy sets off to discover the unique flavors of Hawaii and Arizona.

The episode begins with Guy heading to Oahu, Hawaii to try out egg dishes with a twist at Koko Head Cafe. Chef Lee Anne Wong, a former Top Chef finalist, serves up dishes like the Fried Chicken and Cornmeal Pancakes, Kim chee Bacon fried rice and a Portuguese soup called Kale and Mushroom Guitars. After exploring the unique flavors of Hawaii, Guy heads to Phoenix, Arizona to check out the unexpected gourmet cuisine being served up at Welcome Diner. The establishment is famous for its fried chicken biscuit and gravy dishes, which Chef Michael Babcock prepares using his southern, family-inspired cuisine. Guy also tries the 'Big Jim' dish, which is a type of sandwich that is layered with pulled pork and green chili.

In Tucson, Arizona, Guy steps inside Feast, a restaurant that specializes in creating new spins on American classics. Guy tries out the "All-American Sweet and Spicy Meatloaf," which features a homemade meatloaf topped with cherry glaze and caramelized onions. Feast also serves up a wide variety of vegan and gluten-free options, which Guy seems impressed with.

To cap off the episode, Guy concludes his trip in Phoenix, Arizona at Chino Bandido. This establishment is known for serving up a unique fusion of Asian and Mexican cuisine. Guy tries out the Jade Red Chicken and Caribbean Fried Rice, which are two of the restaurant's most popular dishes. Guy gets a behind-the-scenes look at how the restaurant's owner, Eve, created the unique Chino Bandido concept and how she's been able to make it work over the years.
