In season 8 episode 11 of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a tour of some of the best comfort food classics across the United States. From juicy burgers to hearty stews, this episode is full of dishes that will make you feel warm and cozy inside.

First up, Guy visits a diner in Kansas City that serves up a signature burger called The Elvis. Named after the King of Rock and Roll himself, this towering burger is piled high with bacon, peanut butter, banana, and cheddar cheese. Guy can barely fit it in his mouth, but he declares it a winner.

Next, Guy heads to Oklahoma City to try some down-home Southern cooking at a soul food spot. He raves about the smothered pork chops and the mac and cheese, which he proclaims is "real deal soul food." He also tries a unique side dish - fried pickles with a spicy ranch dip.

In New Orleans, Guy stops at an upscale restaurant that specializes in classic Cajun and Creole dishes. He tries a seafood gumbo that is packed with shrimp, crab, and andouille sausage, as well as a dish called muhammara, which is a roasted red pepper dip that is served with warm pita bread.

Another stop takes Guy to a rustic cabin in Montana, where he tries a hearty elk stew that is simmered for hours. The chef also serves up a comforting mac and cheese topped with breadcrumbs and bacon.

In St. Louis, Guy visits a classic diner that serves up old-fashioned dishes like liver and onions and homemade meatloaf. He raves about the chicken and dumplings, which are made with a light and fluffy homemade dough.

Next, Guy travels to Portland to try a unique take on comfort food - a dish called poutine. This Canadian classic is made with french fries, gravy, and cheese curds, but this chef puts his own spin on it by adding house-cured pork belly and a fried egg on top.

In Texas, Guy stops at a family-run restaurant that has been serving up comfort food for over 80 years. He tries a classic chicken fried steak with creamy gravy, as well as a side of fried okra and a classic banana cream pie.

Finally, Guy heads to Chicago to try a unique take on the classic Italian dish of lasagna. This chef turns it into a soup, with layers of pasta, cheese, and tomato sauce served in a hearty broth. Guy is blown away by the flavors and declares it a true comfort food classic.

Throughout the episode, Guy is impressed by the dedication and passion of the chefs and restaurant owners he meets. From classic dishes to unique takes on comfort food, this episode is a celebration of the heart-warming and soul-nourishing dishes that have become beloved across America.
