Based on the real life and practice of Donny Deutsch, Donny! is a loosely scripted half hour comedy airing on USA. The show follows the wealthy, oblivious character Donny Deutsch as he navigates his personal and public life with the help of his producer and assistants.

With a tag line of "Love thy selfie", Donny! takes a look at pop culture and topical issues many people confront in the twenty-first century. It is a satirical look at a wealthy individual who has the same problems as any other Average Joe. Donny must deal with sexting scandals and tricky dating situations, all while being so socially inept that he is unaware of his major gaffes. The characters laugh at themselves, and invite the viewers to laugh along with them.

Adding to the substance of the show is Donny's role as a father. Not only do social challenges arise, but the private task of raising children and giving them advice to deal with their own conflicts and issues.

In the end, Donny! Thrives on fast paced, energetic writing and the enthusiasm and self-mocking quality of its cast. It's comparable to a reality show, but the fact that it is scripted means there will always be a happy ending.
