EastEnders Season 28 Episode 20

EastEnders Season 28 Episode 20 Beale Bonding

  • February 2, 2012

Elizabeth Beale is feeling anxious because her husband, Ian, is away on a business trip and her step-son, Steven, is not around to help out either. She is left alone with her grandchildren, Bobby and Lucy, and is struggling to keep them entertained. Meanwhile, Shirley Carter is worried about her son, Dean, who has not been seen in a while and has been acting strange.

The episode kicks off with Elizabeth trying to keep Bobby and Lucy busy by taking them to the park. While there, they run into Denise Fox and her daughter Denny. The kids start playing together while Elizabeth and Denise have a chat. Denise gives Elizabeth some advice on how to handle being a step-parent and reassures her that she is doing a great job.

Later on, Elizabeth receives a surprise visit from her other step-son, Peter. He tells her that he has decided to return to Walford after spending some time travelling. Elizabeth is overjoyed to have him back and they spend some quality time catching up. However, their bonding session is interrupted when they receive a call from Ian.

Ian informs them that he is extending his business trip and will not be back for another week. Elizabeth is upset but tries to remain positive. She decides to throw a dinner party for her friends and family to take her mind off things. She enlists the help of Peter and together they start preparing for the party.

Meanwhile, Shirley is still on edge about Dean. She decides to pay a visit to his workplace to see if he is there. When she arrives, she is shocked to find that he has been fired. She confronts his boss and demands to know why. His boss tells her that Dean was stealing from the company and had been caught on camera. Shirley is devastated by the news and doesn't know how to help her son.

Back at Elizabeth's house, the dinner party is in full swing. The guests are having a great time and Elizabeth is grateful for the distraction. However, the party takes a turn when Lucy starts feeling unwell. Elizabeth rushes her to the hospital and it turns out that she has picked up a stomach bug. Elizabeth is beside herself with worry but Peter is there to comfort her.

The episode ends with Elizabeth and Peter bonding even more as they stay by Lucy's side in the hospital. Shirley tries to find a way to help Dean while Denise offers her support. Despite the challenges they are facing, the characters are reminded that family is the most important thing and that they will always be there for each other.
