In Erased season 1 episode 2, titled "Palm of the Hand," the story continues as Satoru Fujinuma wakes up to find himself back in time, where he is still an 11-year-old boy. This is due to his mysterious ability to jump back and forth in time, which he calls "Revival."

In the previous episode, Satoru realized that his childhood friend, Kayo Hinazuki, was going to be murdered in the future. Thus, he decides to use his power and go back in time to change her fate. In this episode, Satoru seeks out Kayo to try to change her future.

The episode begins with Satoru approaching Kayo's desk in class, but she quickly dismisses him. He starts to observe her from a distance to try to understand what her home life is like and why she is so dismissive of others. Satoru soon learns that Kayo's parents are neglectful, abusive, and force her to do many of the household chores. This leads to Kayo being isolated and alone, and she is often referred to as "the bitch" by her classmates.

As Satoru continues to observe Kayo, he discovers that something is wrong with her hand, so he decides to take her to the nurse's office. There, Satoru confronts Kayo about her injury, but she refuses to tell him what happened. Afterward, he meets with his mother, Sachiko, and tells her about his concerns for Kayo. Sachiko offers to buy Kayo a winter coat, as Satoru has noticed that she does not have warm clothing.

Later that day, Satoru takes Kayo to the park to show her the snow for the first time. While they are playing, Satoru sees a man who he believes is watching them. Satoru leads Kayo away before anything happens, but the event unnerves him. On the way back, Satoru tells Kayo that he believes her parents are hurting her, but she refuses to confirm anything.

The next day, Kayo's absence from school worries Satoru, so he decides to go to her house to check on her. He finds Kayo's mother in a drunken stupor in the living room, with Kayo nowhere to be found. Satoru begins to search the house and discovers a closet filled with Kayo's belongings. In the closet, he finds a note from Kayo addressed to her future self, begging her to be happy. Satoru realizes that he has to act fast to save Kayo's life.

Satoru returns to school the next day, determined to find Kayo. He searches everywhere, including the playground, but she is nowhere to be found. Satoru then remembers the man he saw in the park the previous day and begins to panic. He runs to her home and discovers that Kayo's mother has been murdered and Kayo is missing.

The episode ends with Satoru going to the police station to report Kayo's disappearance. He is questioned by the police, who are skeptical of his story due to his young age. Suddenly, Satoru experiences "Revival" and is transported back to his adult self. Satoru realizes that saving Kayo is not going to be as easy as he thought it would be, and he will have to use all of his powers to stop the murderer and save Kayo's life.

Overall, "Palm of the Hand" is a tense and emotional episode that sets up the rest of the season. Viewers are left on the edge of their seats, wondering what will happen next as Satoru tries to save Kayo from her gruesome fate.
