Sousuke and Kaname are finally on their way back to Japan, but not before landing at a seaside resort, where they are to meet with a former soldier for information on a local terrorist organization. Initially, the mission seems simple enough; keep a low profile, gather intel and get out. However, things start to go awry when their safe house is compromised and their lives are put in danger.

The former soldier, who goes by the name of Ren, introduces himself as a freelance journalist and reveals his reason for helping the military personnel. He had previously been part of a small anti-terrorism unit, but was betrayed by his superior officer and left for dead. He then retreated to the seaside resort where he has since made a living as a journalist.

As they settle into their temporary abode, Ren familiarises the two with the area and warns them about the dangers of the terrorist group the duo is tracking. However, soon after their arrival, it becomes clear that Suoske and Kaname have unwittingly raised suspicion among the locals. They are under constant surveillance and are being monitored by the terrorist group.

As they try to devise a plan to gather information, their safe house is broken into. Ren is shot and gravely injured while Kaname is taken hostage by the terrorists. It is up to Sousuke to co-ordinate a rescue mission for Kaname, without the support of the military, who are afraid of attracting too much attention.

Desperate to get her back and with limited resources, Sousuke enlists the help of a young girl named Amalgam, who has been shadowing the group since they arrived. While initially rejecting her offer of help as she is too young, he relents when she displays a vast knowledge of military tactics.

Together, they storm the terrorist base and rescue Kaname, but not before being confronted by a deadly new weapon: a Lambda Driver. It is a device that gives the user immense power and abilities such as superhuman strength, speed, and the ability to generate energy. This new weapon raises a lot of questions and only adds to the already mounting danger for Sousuke and Kaname.

With Kaname safely back at the safe house, the group must turn their attention to Ren, and get him medical help before it's too late. Sousuke and Amalgam use their respective skills to get him the help he needs, but not without some close calls and run-ins with the terrorists.

As the episode draws to a close with a display of their final rescue effort, it is not without shedding light on a larger situation, putting their mission on notice of perhaps something bigger lurking behind the attacks. The episode sets the stage for an action-packed finale, leaving viewers excited for more.
