Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley, and Billy Tolley travel to South Dakota to investigate one of the most notoriously haunted locations in the United States: the former Sanatorium in Hot Springs. Built in the early 1900s, Dakota's Sanatorium was originally used to treat patients suffering from tuberculosis, but over the years its purpose changed and it became a mental hospital. The team arrives at the Sanatorium in the middle of a snowstorm. Despite the weather conditions, Zak, Aaron, Jay, and Billy are ready to investigate the claims of paranormal activity that have been reported at the facility for decades.
As soon as they arrive, the team notices that there is a strange energy in the air. The building itself has an ominous feeling to it, and it's clear that they are not alone. The Sanatorium was a place of suffering and illness, and the team knows that this kind of energy can often manifest itself as paranormal activity.
One of the first places they investigate is the morgue. There have been reports of strange noises and unexplainable shadows seen in this area, and it's clear that the team is not alone. Using their equipment, they attempt to communicate with any spirits that might be present in the morgue. They also explore the old operating rooms and treatment areas, where they believe that residual energy from those who suffered and died in the facility can still be felt.
As they continue their investigation, the team starts to experience some strange occurrences. Jay hears strange noises in the hallway, while Billy has a strange sensation that he can't quite explain. The team decides to split up and investigate different areas of the Sanatorium, hoping to capture evidence of any paranormal activity.
As they explore the building, Zak, Aaron, Jay, and Billy come across several areas where they feel an intense energy. In one room, they feel a sense of dread and sickness, leading them to believe that something terrible happened there. In another area, they encounter what seems to be a malevolent entity that seems to be following them around the Sanatorium.
Throughout the investigation, the team captures a number of EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena) and other pieces of evidence that support the claims of paranormal activity in the Sanatorium. They also have some truly terrifying experiences, including the feeling of being physically touched by something that they can't see.
As the investigation comes to a close, the team reflects on their experiences at the Sanatorium. They are convinced that it is one of the most haunted places they have ever been, and they hope that their investigation will shed some light on the paranormal activity that has been reported there for so many years. Ultimately, the team leaves South Dakota with a newfound respect for the power of the paranormal, and a sense of awe for the unexplainable forces that surround us all.
