Ep 14. Dakota's Sanatorium of Death

In season 17 episode 14 of Ghost Adventures, the team travels to South Dakota to investigate the rural town of Flandreau, where a former sanatorium known as the State Hospital once stood. Over the years, the facility has been the site of numerous reports of paranormal activity, including whispers, apparitions, and doors slamming on their own.

Before beginning their investigation, the team interviews local historian and author Chad Lewis, who provides them with some background on the history of the sanatorium, which was originally opened in 1890 to treat patients with tuberculosis. Over the years, the hospital expanded to include wards for mental illness and other diseases, and it remained in operation until 1961.

As the team begins their investigation, they start to explore the various floors of the now-abandoned building, using a variety of tools and equipment to try to capture evidence of any paranormal activity. They start on the fourth floor, which was once the tuberculosis ward, and immediately notice a strange mist-like phenomenon that seems to be moving around the room. They also pick up several unusual readings on their EMF meters, which they interpret as potential signs of paranormal activity.

Moving on to the third floor, the team investigates the former mental health ward, where they encounter several strange phenomena, including cold spots, unexplained sounds, and the feeling of being touched or pushed by an unseen force. At one point, Aaron is separated from the group and claims to have seen a shadow figure moving in the distance.

Finally, the team makes their way to the basement, where they believe that some of the most sinister and disturbing activity took place. Here, they encounter several strange phenomena, including what sounds like the screams of tortured patients and the feeling of being watched by an unseen force. They also capture several EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) that seem to suggest that something or someone is trying to communicate with them.

As the night wears on, the team becomes increasingly convinced that something truly paranormal is happening at the old State Hospital. Whether it is the ghosts of former patients or something even more sinister and malevolent, the team knows that they must continue their investigation if they hope to uncover the truth about this notorious and haunting location.
