Ep 14. Clinically Dead

  • December 14, 2012

During season 7 episode 14 of Ghost Adventures titled "Clinically Dead," the team investigates the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield, Ohio. This infamous location was once a prison and has a dark and tragic history.

The episode begins with Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Billy Tolley, and Jay Wasley recounting the horrific conditions in which the prisoners were kept. They explain that the prison was overcrowded, and inmates were subjected to inhumane treatment, such as being kept in solitary confinement for weeks on end. Many inmates lost their lives due to the harsh conditions, and their spirits are said to still haunt the prison to this day.

As the Ghost Adventures team enters the prison, they immediately feel a heavy and oppressive energy. They begin their investigation by exploring the chapel, which is said to be particularly haunted. During their investigation, they capture what appears to be an apparition on video. Later in the episode, they discover that this apparition may have been connected to a tragic event that occurred in the chapel many years prior.

The team also explores the prison's "hole," where inmates were kept in solitary confinement. They report feeling a strong sense of despair and hopelessness in this area, which is not surprising given the conditions the prisoners were subjected to. They also capture what appears to be a disembodied voice on their audio recorder.

Perhaps the most compelling part of the episode is when the team explores the prison's hospital wing. This area of the prison was where sick and injured inmates were treated, and many prisoners died within its walls. As the team begins their investigation, they use a device called a "life monitor" that measures electromagnetic fields. They discover that the electromagnetic field in the hospital wing is off the charts, which could be an indication of paranormal activity.

As they continue to explore, the team captures numerous EVPs (electronic voice phenomena) that seem to be coming from the hospital's morgue. They also report feeling a strong energy shift in this area, and Zak Bagans even claims to have seen a full-bodied apparition.

During the course of their investigation, the team also speaks with former prison guards and inmates who recount their experiences with the paranormal. One former guard explains that he witnessed doors opening and closing on their own, and another former inmate shares a chilling story of seeing an apparition in his cell.

As the investigation comes to a close, the team reflects on their experiences and the evidence they captured. They explain that the Ohio State Reformatory is one of the most haunted places they've ever been, and that the spirits of the inmates who suffered and died there seem to still be present.

Overall, "Clinically Dead" is a gripping and intense episode of Ghost Adventures that showcases the team's bravery and dedication to uncovering the truth about the paranormal. If you're a fan of ghost hunting shows, this episode is not to be missed.
