In episode 6 of season 1 of Growing Up Hip Hop, titled "Master of My Fate," the young stars of hip-hop continue to navigate the pressures and expectations of their famous families while pursuing their own dreams.
Romeo struggles with the expectations that come with his famous last name, feeling like he's constantly under a microscope and can never make any mistakes. His emotional struggles come to a head when he's forced to confront his father, Master P, about the tension between them. Meanwhile, Angela Simmons is dealing with her own family drama as she tries to establish herself as a fashion designer. Her relationship with her sister Vanessa is strained, causing her to seek the advice of her aunt, who encourages her to stay focused on her goals.
Egypt Criss, daughter of Sandra "Pepa" Denton of Salt-N-Pepa, is also feeling the pressures of her family's legacy as she prepares for her modeling debut. With her mother by her side, Egypt takes on the challenge and tries to prove that she can make it in the industry on her own. Her boyfriend Sam also faces his own challenges as he tries to prove himself as a producer, going head-to-head with a veteran producer in a high-stakes battle.
The episode also follows Boogie Dash, son of hip-hop mogul Damon Dash, as he tries to stay on the straight and narrow path while dealing with his struggles with addiction. Boogie opens up to his father about his issues and receives some tough love and guidance in return. Meanwhile, Kristinia DeBarge continues to explore her roots and tries to reconcile with her estranged father, James DeBarge.
As always, the young stars of Growing Up Hip Hop face many challenges and obstacles as they strive to make a name for themselves in hip-hop and beyond. With their famous families and legacies behind them, these talented and driven young people are determined to seize their own destinies and become the masters of their own fates.
