Ep 5. (Grimoire) / Magic Tome

Shalltear's fight against the mysterious warrior, Brain Unglaus, continues on. Even after Shalltear unleashes her full strength, she is still unable to defeat Brain. Meanwhile, Ainz and Albedo are having a meeting to discuss the aftermath of Shalltear's rebellion. Ainz is concerned about the possibility of other NPCs rebelling against him and asks Albedo to keep a close eye on them.

Back at the fight, Shalltear begins to lose confidence in her abilities. However, she receives a message from Ainz telling her to retreat. As she tries to leave, she is ambushed by a group of adventurers. They manage to capture her and plan to take her back to the dungeon to sell her off. But just as they're leaving, Ainz arrives and orders them to release Shalltear. He reveals that this was all part of a plan to test her loyalty, and she passed with flying colors.

Meanwhile, Bell is busy studying magic in order to improve his fighting abilities. He meets a young girl named Lili who is also studying magic. She reveals that she is a member of the Soma Familia, a group of adventurers who have a bad reputation for being greedy and troublesome. Bell is hesitant to interact with her at first but soon realizes that she is not as bad as he thought she was.

Later on, Bell and his party go on a mission to retrieve a magical tome from a group of goblins. They're successful in retrieving the tome but are attacked by a group of adventurers who are also after it. Bell and his party manage to fend them off and escape.

Back at the guild, Bell is rewarded for his successful mission and decides to give a portion of his reward to Lili, hoping to help her break away from the Soma Familia. However, Lili misunderstands Bell's intentions and believes that he's buying her services as a thief. She confronts him and Bell is forced to reveal the truth about his intentions. Lili is grateful for his kindness and agrees to work with him and his party.
