Ep 4. (War Game) War Game

Bell and Hestia are finding themselves in a bind with regards to their leveling up progress. Bell is yet to join a familia and has been turned down by three companies already whereas Hestia's debt keeps mounting with no respite in sight. On top of it, they are constantly being ridiculed and underestimated by the people around them. However, they soon come up with a plan to counter all the negativity - participate in the upcoming War Games.

The War Games are a friendly competition between the familia's and were instituted so that the members could hone their skills, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and strategize better. Hestia and Bell have joined the Hestia familia team and are up against the formidable Apollo familia led by Apollo himself. Hestia familia is a relatively small team comprising of Hestia, Bell, Haruhime, and Sanjouno Haruhime's guard. On the other hand, Apollo familia is a well-oiled machine with members that are much higher in levels than Hestia familia.

Even though the unevenness of the competition is obvious, Hestia's team decides to go ahead with it, with the hope of learning new techniques and strategies. They are well-aware of their odds but decide to use their inadequacies as an advantage. Their primary strategy will be to create confusion and bewilder the Apollo familia members who are not used to fighting against a small team.

The first round of the war game between the two familias is a hide and seek game where the objective is to find the map that will help the seekers locate the hiding members of the other team. Hestia familia uses their knowledge of labyrinth geography as an advantage and manages to keep their hiding spot hidden from the seekers for quite some time. Bell, on the other hand, manages to find the Apollo familia's map but decides to keep it for a later use, thereby creating quite a stir in the Apollo familia camp.

The second round is a combat battle where each team gets to choose their five strongest members to participate in the battle. Again, Apollo familia picks its members based on their brute strength and power. Hestia decides to choose Bell, Haruhime, herself, and the two loli twins, Lilliluka and Welf Crozzo, the blacksmith. While Hestia and the twins stay back, Haruhime uses her powers to break the concentration of the Apollo familia members and immobilize them. Meanwhile, Bell uses his speed and agility to dodge and evade their attacks. As the members of the Apollo familia start to tire, Bell goes on the offensive and takes them by surprise, thereby winning the match for Hestia familia.

The final round is the decisive battle where each team can choose up to fifteen members to participate in the game. The stage is set, and it is a battle royal between the two familias. Apollo familia is still at a disadvantage as Bell is now equipped with the map he found earlier, thereby giving Hestia familia a heads up on their opponents' location. Hestia familia uses their strength in unity to outsmart and outmaneuver the larger team. Bell uses his skills to take down some of the Apollo familia members while the twins act as bait to draw the opposition towards them, leaving them open to attacks from Hestia and Haruhime. The battle reaches its climax as the two leaders, Hestia and Apollo, face off against each other. The outcome of the battle is yet to be determined as the episode ends on a cliffhanger.

The fourth episode of season 2 of Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? titled War Game, is an impressive display of skill, tactics, and teamwork. The episode provides an insight into what the war games are all about and how the relative strengths and weaknesses of each familia come into play. The episode ends on a high note, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the next episode to find out the outcome of the battle between Hestia and Apollo familia.
