In episode 4 of Kids BBQ Championship season 1, titled "State Fair," the young BBQ chefs are challenged to create dishes inspired by classic fair foods. The contestants must not only demonstrate their grilling and smoking skills, but also showcase their creativity and ability to put unique twists on familiar favorites.

Hosts Camila Alves and Eddie Jackson start off by introducing the challenge and the guest judge, Chef Christian Petroni. The first task is to create a BBQ appetizer, and the contestants get to work brainstorming ideas. Some opt for traditional fair foods like corn dogs and funnel cakes, while others come up with more outside-the-box ideas like smoked watermelon and BBQ deviled eggs.

As the young chefs start cooking, they face various obstacles, such as struggling with their equipment or running out of time. Some contestants also face the challenge of cooking with ingredients they are not familiar with, such as rabbit or duck. But despite these challenges, all of the young chefs manage to create impressive appetizers that leave the judges impressed.

Next up is the main course, and the contestants must once again put their own spin on classic fair food. This time, however, they are given a secret ingredient to incorporate into their dish: cotton candy. Some of the young chefs struggle with how to use the sweet treat, while others embrace the challenge and incorporate it in creative ways.

As the young chefs work to create their main course dishes, tensions rise and we see some intense moments as the clock ticks down. But ultimately, all of the contestants produce delicious dishes that showcase their BBQ skills and their ability to think outside the box.

Finally, it's time for the dessert round, and the young chefs must create a sweet treat inspired by fair food. Some contestants choose to go with classic desserts like fried Oreos or apple fritters, while others opt for more unique ideas such as bacon-wrapped s'mores or banana pudding pops.

As the judges taste each of the desserts, they are once again blown away by the creativity and skill of the young chefs. But in the end, only one contestant can be named the winner of the State Fair challenge, and the judges have a tough decision to make.

Overall, episode 4 of Kids BBQ Championship season 1 is a thrilling and exciting look at the creativity and skill of young BBQ chefs. From the appetizers to the desserts, each dish is a unique and delicious take on classic fair food, showcasing the contestants' ability to think outside the box and showcase their talents.
