Set in the kingdom of Knighton, Lego Nexo Knights is an animated television series that tells the story of five young knights who must defend their home from Jestro, the court jester turned evil, and his army of monstrous creatures. Meanwhile, Macy, the only female knight on the team, meets up with Lance, the vain and boyish knight who is constantly posing for his adoring fans. Together, they come across a group of hooded figures who turn out to be the residents of a nearby village. The villagers explain that they have been studying the chasm for years and that they have a plan to retrieve the book using a special grappling hook. Macy and Lance agree to help them, but tensions rise when Lance realizes that the villagers don't recognize him as a famous hero.

The episode culminates in a thrilling battle between the Nexo Knights, the Lava Monsters, and a gigantic spider that has been pursuing them. Just when it seems that all hope is lost, the team discovers a way to use the ancient machinery to create a makeshift elevator that takes them down to the chasm. However, they soon realize that Jestro and the Book of Monsters are not alone down there: they are surrounded by thousands of the creatures that the book can summon.
