Power Rangers Super Samurai is the nineteenth season of the Power Rangers series of children shows as well as the second season of Power Rangers Samurai. The evil Nighloks, led by Master Xandred, have awakened after years of imprisonment and want to use the misery of humans to fill up the Sanzu River in order to escape into the human world and conquer it. It is up to the newest generation of Samurai Power Rangers to prevent the Earth from meeting this fate. They will use a combination of high tech weaponry and symbol power to overcome the various monsters that make their way to the human world. Along the way, they will meet both new allies, like the Gold Ranger, and enemies, such as the treacherous Serrator, alike. When not fighting monsters, the Rangers live with their mentor, Ji, to both relax and train in order to improve their skills. In addition to defending the Earth, the rangers learn many valuable lessons in their civilian lives such as trusting yourself and your friends, putting forth your best effort and also knowing when to stop training and just enjoy time with friends. The series stars Alex Heartman, Najee De-Tiege, Erika Fong, Hector David Jr., Brittany Anne Pirtle and Steven Skylar as the titular Power Rangers. Mentor Ji is played by Rene Naufahu and the comedic Bulk and Spike are played by Paul Schrier and Felix Ryan respectively. Lastly, the cursed Nighlok, Deker, is portrayed by Ricardo Medina Jr. The series ended in late 2012 with a total of 40 episodes between its 2 seasons. Reruns of the show can be seen on Nickelodeon. Each episode is approximately 21 minutes in length and fits into a half-hour time slot. The series is owned and distributed by Saban Brands LLC.
