In Long Lost Family season 4 episode 9, titled "That Was My One Shot," hosts Chris Jacobs and Lisa Joyner continue their mission of reuniting families who have been separated for years. This episode features two emotional journeys of individuals searching for their birth parents.

In the first story, we are introduced to a woman named Kathy who was adopted as an infant. Despite having a loving family, Kathy has always felt a void in her life and a desire to know more about where she comes from. With the help of the Long Lost Family team, Kathy sets out to find her birth mother.

Throughout the episode, we follow Kathy's journey as she travels to the hospital where she was born and reads through her adoption records. With each new piece of information, Kathy becomes more hopeful that she will be able to connect with her birth mother. However, the search proves to be more difficult than expected as the team discovers that Kathy's birth mother had passed away several years prior.

Despite this setback, the team continues to search for any living relatives of Kathy's birth mother. Eventually, they are able to locate a cousin who agrees to meet with Kathy. In an emotional reunion, Kathy finally gets the chance to learn more about her birth mother and the circumstances that led to her adoption. The long-lost family members bond over shared memories and promise to maintain contact in the future.

The second story of the episode follows a man named Tom who was adopted as a baby. Tom has always known that he was adopted and has been curious about his birth parents for years. With the help of the Long Lost Family team, Tom embarks on a journey to find his birth mother and hopefully, his birth father.

Tom's search takes him across the country to the city where he was born. He meets with his sister, who was also adopted, and together they try to piece together information about their birth mother. Through interviews with family members and digging through legal documents, they find out that their birth mother passed away several years ago. However, they discover that Tom's birth father may still be alive.

With this new information, Tom and his sister continue their search for their birth father. They eventually track him down and arrange to meet him in person. In an emotional meeting, Tom is finally able to learn more about his birth family and his own identity. The long lost family members are able to make up for lost time and begin building a relationship that has eluded them for decades.

Throughout "That Was My One Shot," we see the emotional toll that the search takes on both Kathy and Tom. However, they both remain steadfast in their quest to uncover the truth about their past. The show highlights the importance of family connections and the impact that a single decision made decades ago can have on a person's life.

Overall, "That Was My One Shot" is a heartwarming episode that showcases the power of human connection and the resilience of the human spirit.
