Ep 2. Human & Ange

William Twining, the protagonist of Makai Ouji: Devils and Realist, is still coming to grips with the fact that he is the descendant of Solomon, the Wise King of the ancient world. In the second episode of the series, "Human & Ange," William reluctantly agrees to participate in a Summoning ritual with Dantalion and Sytry, two of the Devil Princes vying for his support in the war for the throne of Hell.

Unsurprisingly, William is less than thrilled about the idea of summoning a demon, but his curiosity gets the better of him when Dantalion tells him that they will be summoning an angel instead. While angels and demons are traditionally enemies, the Princes believe that William's bloodline will grant them access to the angel's wisdom and help them in their quest for power.

The Summoning ritual takes place in a hidden room underneath William's school, and as he recites the incantation, a bright light envelops the room. When the light fades, William expects to see an angel standing before him - but instead, he is greeted by a beautiful young woman named Uriel.

William is immediately taken with Uriel's kindness and innocence, and he is surprised to learn that she is not an angel at all - she is a human, and a former student at his school. Uriel explains that she stumbled upon the ritual room by accident and was caught in the crossfire of the Summoning.

Dantalion and Sytry are both disappointed by the outcome of the Summoning, but William cannot bear to send Uriel back to the human world alone. He insists that she stay with him until he can figure out a way to send her home safely.

As William and Uriel spend more time together, he starts to see her as more than just a lost girl - he is struck by her pure-heartedness and her unwavering faith in humanity. Uriel, in turn, is fascinated by William's prodigious intellect and his desire to make a difference in the world.

But their relationship is threatened when Dantalion and Sytry discover that Uriel possesses a powerful magical artifact that could change the course of the war between Heaven and Hell. The Princes try to take advantage of Uriel's naivete to acquire the artifact, but William is determined to protect his friend at all costs.

In the end, William and Uriel are able to outsmart Dantalion and Sytry and escape the Summoning room with the artifact. But the experience has opened William's eyes to the true nature of the war between Heaven and Hell - and he realizes that he may be powerless to stop the Princes from using his bloodline for their own ends.

"Human & Ange" is a heartwarming episode that explores the themes of friendship, loyalty, and the capacity for goodness in humanity. While it doesn't advance the overall plot of the series significantly, it is a strong showcase for the chemistry between William and Uriel, and the moral dilemmas that arise when they come into contact with the Devil Princes.
