Ep 7. Phoenix

Adam Richman heads to Phoenix, Arizona for some sizzling southwestern food challenges. His first stop is at Chompie's, a Jewish deli chain known for serving ginormous portions. Adam takes on their "Ultimate Slider Challenge," which requires him to finish 12 pound-sized sliders in 30 minutes. The sliders are stacked with all the trimmings, including cheddar cheese, bacon, and fried onions. Will Adam be able to conquer this slider mountain, or will he fall short of the challenge?

Next, Adam visits the Hula's Modern Tiki restaurant, where he gets a taste of island life in the desert. He takes on the "Big Kahuna Challenge," which involves devouring a massive plate of Hawaiian-inspired favorites, including teriyaki beef skewers, coconut shrimp, and fried rice. But the most daunting part of the challenge is the massive 64-ounce drink called the "Hula Pie." Will Adam be able to finish this tiki feast, or will he sink under the weight of this enormous drink?

For his final challenge, Adam heads to the Cornish Pasty Co., a British-style pub that specializes in hearty hand-held pies. He takes on their "Oggie Challenge," which requires him to sink his teeth into a massive pasty filled with steak, potatoes, onions, and gravy. But the challenge doesn't stop there: Adam also has to finish four more pasties, each with a different filling, in under an hour. Will Adam be able to eat these stuffed pastries without getting stuffed himself, or will he wave the white flag in surrender?

Throughout the episode, Adam also explores the food scene in Phoenix, and meets with locals who share their favorite spots for chili dogs, enchiladas, and desserts. He even visits a local ranch where he learns how to make authentic cowboy chili, using a blend of beef, beans, and spicy chili peppers. Will the heat of the chili be enough to prepare Adam for his food challenges ahead?
