In Man v. Food season 8 episode 11, host Casey Webb travels to Boise, Idaho, where he takes on some of the city's most iconic food challenges.
The episode begins with Casey visiting Westside Drive-In, where he samples their famous "Idaho Ice Cream Potato." This unique dessert looks like a baked potato, but is actually a giant ball of ice cream covered in cocoa powder and topped with whipped cream, chopped nuts, and a cherry. Casey indulges in this sweet treat before moving on to the main challenge of the episode.
Next, Casey heads to The Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery to take on their "Big Arse Burger Challenge." This massive burger is made with two half-pound beef patties, eight slices of bacon, four slices of American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and special sauce, all stacked between two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of traditional bun. To complete the challenge, Casey must finish the entire burger and a side of fries in under 30 minutes.
After filling up on burgers, Casey heads to The Ranch Club, a country bar and grill known for their "Challenge Platter." This platter includes a 1-pound chicken-fried steak, a baked potato, a salad, and a basket of rolls. Casey has just one hour to finish the entire platter, and he'll earn a spot on the restaurant's Hall of Fame if he succeeds.
Finally, Casey visits Madre, a Latin restaurant known for their massive "Taco Gigante." This taco is filled with 5 pounds of carne asada, chorizo, chicken, pork, queso freco, lettuce, and avocado crema, all served in a giant tortilla. Casey joins forces with a local Boise celebrity to take on this massive taco, which is about the size of a pizza.
Throughout the episode, viewers are treated to shots of Boise's picturesque mountains, rivers, and cityscapes. Local chefs and restaurant owners also share some of the unique history and traditions behind the city's most iconic dishes.
