Picking up from the events of the previous episode, A View in the Dark opens with Peggy Carter and Edwin Jarvis arriving at the Isodyne Energy headquarters to investigate the death of Jane Scott. Peggy suspects that Jane's body may hold some clues about her death, but they soon find that the body has disappeared. While snooping around, they discover a mysterious substance which is later revealed to be "Zero Matter" - a dangerous material that absorbs everything in its vicinity.

Meanwhile, Chief Sousa is looking into the death of Rufus Hunt, a scientist whose body was found near the docks. Sousa visits Hunt's wife, who reveals that her husband was working on a project for Isodyne Energy. Sousa suspects that the company may be involved in the deaths of Hunt and Scott and asks Peggy to look into it.

As Peggy and Jarvis delve deeper into the Isodyne Energy conspiracy, they are confronted by Whitney Frost, a brilliant scientist and actress who is the head of the company's research division. Despite her charming personality, Peggy discovers that Whitney is connected to some of the shady activities at Isodyne Energy. Whitney is also fascinated by the Zero Matter and begins to conduct her own experiments on the substance.

As Sousa continues his investigation, he meets up with an old flame, Violet, and they spend some time catching up. Sousa also confides in Violet about the case he's working on, and she encourages him to follow his instincts and trust his gut.

Back at Isodyne Energy, Peggy and Jarvis sneak into Whitney's office and discover a secret room where she is conducting her experiments on the Zero Matter. They also find a film reel that contains some cryptic information about the substance. Peggy and Jarvis take the reel back to their office to analyze it and discover that it contains a message from a scientist named Dr. Wilkes who was working on the Zero Matter project.

Later in the episode, Peggy and Jarvis go to visit Dr. Wilkes to get more information about the Zero Matter. However, they discover that he has disappeared, just like Jane Scott's body. This leads Peggy to suspect that Isodyne Energy is involved in Dr. Wilkes' disappearance and the deaths of Hunt and Scott.

The episode ends with Peggy and Jarvis discovering that the Zero Matter is even more dangerous than they previously thought. They rush to find Dr. Wilkes before it's too late.

Overall, A View in the Dark sets up an intriguing and thrilling mystery that keeps the audience engaged throughout the episode. The introduction of a new villain, Whitney Frost, adds an extra layer of complexity to the plot, as Peggy and Jarvis are forced to navigate the dangerous world of Isodyne Energy and the mysterious Zero Matter. The episode also explores the personal lives of the characters, giving us a glimpse into Sousa's romantic history and his dedication to his job. With its strong writing, excellent performances, and captivating plot, A View in the Dark is a must-watch for fans of Marvel's Agent Carter.
