In Mystery Diners season 3 episode 8, titled No Laughing Matter, business owner Liz of The Cowfish restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, reaches out to Charles Stiles and his team to investigate a strange incident. According to Liz, her staff members have been complaining about several obnoxious customers who make inappropriate comments and jokes, causing discomfort and chaos in the restaurant. Liz suspects that the culprits could be her bartenders or wait staff. She wants Charles and his experts to go undercover and find out the truth.

Charles assigns the case to mystery diner Greg, who poses as a customer and orders drinks and food at the restaurant. Greg is wired with a hidden camera, and the footage will be monitored by the control room during his visit. In the meantime, Charles and his investigator Emily set up a van outside the restaurant to watch the outside perimeter and listen through the walls for any inappropriate behavior.

As Greg sits at the bar, he quickly notices that the bartender, Jake, is making inappropriate jokes and comments to female customers. He also observes that a group of men at the other end of the bar are making racist jokes and harassing other customers. Greg takes careful notes and reports back to Charles with his findings.

Charles decides to send in his second mystery diner, Juliana, to pose as a waitress and confirm Greg's findings. Juliana observes that the wait staff are not involved in the inappropriate behavior, but they are struggling to control the situation. Juliana also notices that one of the waitresses has been stealing money from customers' checks. Charles decides to confront the perpetrators and solve the issue once and for all.

Charles and his team organize a meeting with Liz and her employees to reveal their findings. Charles shows the footage of Jake and the group of men making inappropriate comments. The bartenders and servers are shocked and embarrassed by their behavior. Charles also confronts the waitress who has been stealing money, and she confesses to her actions. Charles advises Liz on how to handle the situation and prevent it from happening in the future. The staff members who were involved in the obnoxious behavior are fired, and Liz takes steps to improve the training and management at the restaurant.

In the end, Liz is grateful to Charles and his team for solving the issue, and the restaurant is back to its normal operation. Charles reminds Liz that maintaining the integrity of her business is important, and it starts with hiring the right people and providing outstanding service to customers.
