Ep 9. Okami-san and Snow White, Who Is Immune to Poison Apples

Okamisan is a sweet and comical anime series which comes with a fairy tale twist, and for all of you fantasy enthusiasts, it’s a must-watch. In season 1, episode 9, the show follows the story titled “Okami-san and Snow White, Who Is Immune to Poison Apples”.

The episode begins with the introduction of Shirayuki Hotogi, who is the head of the school’s disciplinary committee. She has a reputation amongst the students of being the "Snow White" who can resist any form of temptation, be it good or evil. Her strong will and immunity also extend to the use of love potions, which earns her a nickname of "Love Potion No. 9". Her ability has reached the ears of the student council, and they were assigned to keep an eye on her as they have received complaints from other students about the role she plays at school.

Meanwhile, in the Otogi Bank, it's a busy and stressful day. The team has been overwhelmed with work and the business of catching a particular client who has been skipping out on his debt. They are preparing to set a trap for the client, but the client turns out to be none other than Reiko Yūki, their former client who had previously trapped them. Reiko wants to make things right this time by returning the money she owed the team. But, as expected, the team is cautious about her intentions. She tries to explain her past mistakes, but the team is not easy to convince.

As Otogi Bank decides to deal with the client, Ryōshi Morino, the shy and timid guy who has a crush on Ryōko Ōkami, and is slowly trying to overcome his fear of women, and trying to build enough courage to confess his feelings towards Ryōko. During this period, he overhears the discussion about Shiraayuki’s immunity, and decides to use it to his advantage by making Ryōko jealous. With the help of Tōru and the others, Ryōshi tries to entice Ryōko with chocolates in order to trigger a reaction of jealousy from her.

As the day continues, Shirayuki Hotogi requests a meeting with Ryōko and the others. She informs them that she has an arranged marriage waiting for her as soon as she graduates from high school. She talks about the restrictions it comes with, but also how much it means to her as it will provide financial support to her family.

As everyone is caught up with their dealings, they miss out on the fact that Ryoshi has used this information to make Ryōko jealous by pretending that he received chocolates from Shirayuki. Ryōko quickly realizes that it was a ploy by Ryōshi to get her attention. She plays along with Ryoshi's plan to make him feel better.

In summary, in episode 9, Okamisan delivers an interesting plot which revolves around the concept of resisting temptation. The story is narrated through different characters and their personal struggles. The combination of fairy tale elements, romance, and comedy make season 1, episode 9 a must-watch.
