Ep 1. First Blood

In the small, rural town of Sotoba, life is quiet and uneventful. That is until the arrival of a mysterious family with a strange, unsettling aura. Megumi Shimizu, a beautiful and popular high school girl, becomes fascinated by the family and begins to spend more and more time around them.

Meanwhile, strange deaths begin to occur in the town, and the townspeople grow increasingly paranoid and fearful. Dr. Toshio Ozaki, the medical examiner, begins to investigate the cause of the deaths, but finds no clear answers. His investigation is complicated further by the arrival of a strange epidemic, leaving the town even more isolated and vulnerable.

As the deaths continue and tensions rise, Megumi becomes increasingly obsessed with the mysterious newcomer, Kirishiki. She begins to have strange dreams and begins to believe that Kirishiki and her family are vampires. Her friends and family, however, dismiss her claims as superstition and implore her to stay away from the outsiders.

But when Megumi suddenly disappears, Dr. Ozaki's investigation takes on a new urgency. With the help of a visiting scholar, Ozaki begins to unravel the dark secrets of the Shimizu family and the strange epidemic sweeping the town.

But will he be able to stop the epidemic and save the town before it's too late? And what dark secrets lie at the heart of Megumi's disappearance?

The first episode of Shiki lays the groundwork for an intense and thrilling supernatural mystery, with complex characters and a deep sense of foreboding.
