Ep 1. Fireteam E601

In the first episode of Sky Wizards Academy, we are introduced to a post-apocalyptic world where humans have been driven to the sky due to the rampant proliferation of magical beasts on Earth. In this world, magic is a necessary tool for survival and the most skilled mages attend the Sky Wizards Academy to hone their skills.

The episode begins with a group of mages assigned to a team known as Fireteam E601. Their leader is the stoic Kanata Age, a powerful mage who has left a notorious reputation for himself due to a past incident. His teammates include the kind-hearted and naive Misora Whitale, and the hot-headed Rico Flamel, who is eager to prove herself to her team leader.

The story picks up with an impressive display of firepower as Kanata leads his team to eliminate a hoard of magical beasts. After the successful mission, the team sets out to return to the academy, where they are to take a special exam to become Skymages and earn the right to fly a specialized aircraft known as Luxes.

On their way to the academy, Kanata's team encounters two other teams led by the arrogant Lecty Eisenach and the quiet but skilled Lloyd Alwyn. Lecty and Lloyd are introduced as their respective teams are also taking the exam.

When the group finally arrives at the academy, they are greeted by a stern and somewhat aloof headmaster named Yuri Flostre. He has a reputation for being hard on his students, but his demeanor changes when he expresses his fondness for Kanata, whom he calls by his nickname, "Black Master."

As their training begins, we are introduced to the art of magic in this world. The mages' power, known as Lux, is fueled by their emotions. The more powerful the emotions, the stronger the magic. The students are advised to hone their emotions and control their minds in order to increase the strength of their Luxes.

As the first exam begins, the students are flown in their Luxes to a forest where they must eliminate another hoard of magical beasts. Kanata's team is quick to take action, but their teamwork is quickly tested when they encounter a powerful enemy known as a Tyrant.

The team's initial efforts to take down the beast are in vain, and they soon become separated in the chaos. The situation worsens as the beast gains the upper hand in its fight against them.

Just when things seem dire, Kanata unleashes a powerful spell on the Tyrant, defeating it in a single move. This surprises both his teammates and the other students, as Kanata's reputation at the academy seems to have preceded him.

As the episode comes to an end, we see that Kanata's team has passed the exam and earned the right to fly their Luxes. However, their victory is short-lived as they soon discover that they will be facing much tougher battles ahead.
