Ep 6. The Hard Drive

Alice Vaughan is running an engagement firm called "Anderson/Vaughan Investigations," which is pretty challenging and dangerous. She manages high-profile clients fighting against some of the greater criminal minds in the world, with her skilled team's aid by her side.

In season two, episode six of The Catch, titled "The Hard Drive," AVI tries to diffuse a bizarre hostage situation that involves a multi-million dollar new cryptocurrency. Meanwhile, Alice believes she's finally discovered everything about Ben's plans. Karen's personal and professional life begins to collide ferociously, and Danny exposes shocking evidence about Margot.

The episode begins with Alice and Ben preparing for their upcoming wedding while Alice suspects Ben is up to something dodgy. Behind her back, Ben's investigating a large safe in a high-security vault, and he'll do anything to let know what isn't permitted. As a result, Ben steals a flash drive from the secure vault in the bank.

A group of Eastern Europeans takes over an apartment complex, believing that they have the hackproof storage device with millions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency inside. During the police response, the AVI team becomes embroiled in the middle of it. The ransom demand includes the memories on two hard drives they want that have gone missing. While Alice tries to negotiate with the kidnappers, Valerie will be working with the Boston Police Department to uncover the hostages' identities.

There is a ripple between Alice and Ben caused by the latter's behaviors. Alec warned Alice that she underestimates Ben's capability to harm others while using all his charms to get what he wants. Alice discovers that Ben had made a pact with the business partners that facilitated him to look for the flash drive in the bank vault.

Karen practices social work in her professional life, but her personal life is in complete shambles. Her drug addiction spreads, intensifying as Justin, her boss and ex-lover, reaches out to her, offering her a bottle of wine. Karen refused his offer, backed by the voice mail messages that Ben left earlier, revealing his secret mission, which he and Alice have been covering up for longer. The secrets he keeps is making it more difficult for Karen to keep her troubles at bay. Karen gives into temptation and becomes intoxicated with her boss.

Danny, working undercover to bring down Margot and the syndicate one step at a time, delivers a shocking revelation on Margot's trustworthiness. He tells Alice that Margot has a team of security consultants working to attempt to uncover the person spying on AVI.

As each episode of The Catch unfolds, the tension increases as AVI fights off the giants of the criminal underworld. In episode six of season two, the audience is caught up in the drama and never realizes the predicting attack. With Alice and Ben's wedding approaching and Karen's drug addiction spiraling out of control, the AVI team is soundly knocked down on their feet with news that a cryptocurrency was stolen, making the whole season more exciting and unpredictable.
