In The Dead Files season 4 episode 10, titled "Bloodlust: Buffalo, Wyoming," professional medium Amy Allan and retired NYPD homicide detective Steve DiSchiavi travel to Buffalo, Wyoming to investigate claims of paranormal activity in a historic hotel. The hotel, which was once a popular stop for cowboys, has a dark history. Rumors of murder, suicide, and other tragedies have persisted for decades, and many believe that the spirits of the hotel's past residents still haunt the premises.
Upon arrival, Steve and Amy begin their investigation by interviewing the hotel's current owner, who shares some of the hotel's history and describes several strange occurrences that have taken place on the property. The owner reveals that she has heard mysterious footsteps and voices in empty rooms, and that several of her guests have reported seeing apparitions and feeling strange presences in their rooms.
Next, Steve and Amy split up to conduct their separate investigations. Steve begins by researching the hotel's past, speaking with local historians and tracing the genealogy of some of the former residents. He discovers that there have been several suicides and suspicious deaths associated with the property, including one particularly gruesome murder that involved a man being dismembered and buried in the hotel's basement.
Meanwhile, Amy begins her psychic investigation by touring the hotel and attempting to connect with any spirits that may be present. She experiences several intense visions and emotional responses throughout the building, including a powerful sense of dread and fear in one of the hotel's hallways. She also senses the presence of a violent and aggressive male spirit, whom she believes may be responsible for much of the negative energy in the building.
As the investigation continues, Steve and Amy share their findings with one another and work to piece together a complete picture of the hotel's past and present. They identify several areas of the property that seem to be focal points of paranormal activity, including the basement and several individual rooms. They also discover that the hotel's history is much darker than they initially realized, and that there may be more than one malevolent spirit haunting the property.
Ultimately, Steve and Amy conclude their investigation with a dramatic reveal that sheds new light on the hotel's past and the current state of paranormal activity on the property.
