In season 4, episode 6 of Unique Eats, titled "Maine Weekend," viewers are taken on a culinary journey through one of New England's most picturesque states. With a focus on local and sustainable ingredients, host Tamara Reynolds visits a variety of restaurants, cafes, and food trucks to sample some of the best dishes Maine has to offer.

The episode begins with a stop at Fore Street in Portland, where chef Sam Hayward showcases his wood-oven cooking techniques with dishes such as roasted quail with polenta and wild blueberries. Next, Tamara heads to Rockland to check out a seafood institution, the Graffam Bros. Harborside Restaurant. Here, the focus is on fresh, fried seafood, including clams, haddock, and scallops.

Moving inland, Tamara visits the farm-to-table restaurant Primo in Rockland, where chef Melissa Kelly puts a modern twist on Italian cuisine using ingredients grown on the restaurant's own farm. Dishes include house-made pasta with lamb ragu and fiddlehead ferns, and pork shoulder with ramps and rhubarb.

For a quick snack, Tamara stops at Bite Into Maine food truck, which specializes in lobster rolls. Located at Fort Williams Park in Cape Elizabeth, the truck offers a variety of rolls, including the classic with butter and mayo, and the more adventurous curry and wasabi versions.

Continuing her journey through Maine, Tamara visits the Blue Hill Wine Shop, home to a unique cheese cave with selections from local producers as well as Europe. Here, she samples some of the rare and delicious cheeses, along with artisanal cured meats and bread baked on-site.

Finally, the episode concludes with a visit to the beloved Red's Eats in Wiscasset for their famous lobster roll. The restaurant, which has been around since 1938, serves up a hefty roll piled high with fresh, buttery lobster meat.

Throughout the episode, Tamara highlights the importance of using locally sourced and sustainable ingredients, as well as the creativity and passion of Maine's restaurant scene. "Maine Weekend" is a delicious and informative journey through the state's culinary offerings.
