Ep 1. Revolutionary Transfer Student

In Valvrave the Liberator season 1 episode 1, titled Revolutionary Transfer Student, the story begins in the futuristic world of Module 77 where students attend the prestigious JIOR (JIOR Academy) high school. High school student Haruto Tokishima is one such student who is just beginning his new academic year at JIOR. As Haruto is introducing himself in front of his new classmates, his attention is captured by a mysterious transfer student named L-Elf.

L-Elf, who initially decides to sit alone in the back of the classroom, is soon approached by fellow classmates led by Haruto. Haruto is intrigued by L-Elf and wants to learn more about him. However, L-Elf uses his sharp wit and anti-social behavior to rebuff all attempts of friendship.

As a result, Haruto decides to challenge L-Elf to a race, hoping it may foster a sense of camaraderie between the two. L-Elf accepts, and the two students are instructed by their teacher to meet at the old school building on the outskirts of town for their competition.

As the competition gets underway, Haruto's hopes of building a friendship with L-Elf are dashed when L-Elf purposely sabotages the event and uses it to make his escape into the woods.

Not wanting to give up on L-Elf, Haruto follows him into the woods, where he stumbles upon a strange, large tower. L-Elf is already inside the tower, and he reveals to Haruto that he is a part of an organized rebel group called the Dorssian Military Pact Federation who is fighting for control of their country's government.

L-Elf's group is seeking to steal a powerful new weapon, the Valvrave, which the military is currently developing in a secret facility located on the school's campus. The Valvrave is a powerful, humanoid robotic mecha that has the capability of granting its pilots immense power and immortality.

L-Elf, recognizing Haruto's courage and fighting spirit, asks him to help him and his group in their quest to steal the Valvrave from the military. Haruto, initially hesitant, ultimately agrees, due in no small part to his growing feelings for L-Elf's fellow rebel, Shoko Sashinami.

The Valvrave the Liberator season 1 episode 1 is a pulse-pounding action adventure that sets the stage for what is sure to be an exciting series. The episode expertly introduces the viewer to the main characters while also establishing the overarching plot. The animation is top-notch, with beautifully rendered visuals that bring the world of Module 77 to life.
