Ep 8. Princess of Light

In Valvrave the Liberator season 1 episode 8, titled "Princess of Light," the focus shifts to the character Saki Rukino. Saki is a popular idol and a student at JIOR's Sakimori Academy, but also happens to be a spy for the Dorssia Military Pact Federation. She is tasked with obtaining information on the Valvrave pilots and is willing to do whatever it takes to succeed in her mission.

Meanwhile, Haruto Tokishima and the other Valvrave pilots are still reeling from the events of the previous episode, which saw the death of one of their own. They are beginning to question the true nature of the Valvraves and the cost of their power. L-elf, the strategist for JIOR, is also reeling from the loss and is looking for a way to turn the tide of the war in their favor.

As Saki continues her mission, she meets a young girl named Akira Renbokoji, who is a huge fan of hers. Akira is also a shut-in who is confined to a wheelchair due to a rare illness. Despite this, she is a genius hacker who has been able to hack into JIOR's system and uncover some important information. Saki uses Akira's skills to obtain the information she needs, but begins to develop a bond with the girl in the process.

However, Saki begins to question her loyalty to the Dorssia Military Pact Federation as she learns more about Akira's illness and the sacrifices she has had to make. When the Dorssian army launches an attack on Sakimori Academy, Saki is forced to make a decision that could change the course of the war.

Throughout the episode, there is a recurring theme of sacrifices and the costs of war. Saki is willing to sacrifice anything to complete her mission, but begins to question whether it is worth the cost. Haruto and the other Valvrave pilots are also coming to terms with the sacrifices they have made and the consequences of their actions.

"Princess of Light" is a character-centric episode that delves deeper into Saki's backstory and motivations. It also introduces Akira, who becomes an important character in the series.
