Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne is a reality television series that stars Julissa Bermudez and Adrienne Bailon. The series follows the ups and downs in the lives of two Latina best friends who are trying to make their mark in show business. The first season ran for ten episodes that showed the girls struggle with obstacles and enjoy success.

Adrienne Bailon is attempting to be a pop music superstar and Hollywood actress. She had previous success in the music industry prior to appearing in Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne. She was a founding member of the pop music singing trio 3LW. She also was a star on the music television film, The Cheetah Girls. Following the success of that film, she toured the country doing musical performances with her co-stars from the movie.

Julissa Bermudez is also a familiar face to television viewers; she has hosted several television shows for various networks. She has been the host of 106 & Park and Jersey Shore: After Hours. She also is pursuing a career in acting; she has guested on several popular situation comedies.

The show begins with introductions of the two stars. The first episode is set in New York and explains how the two performers first met during the filming of a movie in 2006. They instantly became best friends. The first episode shows Julissa working on her Spanish accent to try and find more mainstream work in film and television. Adrienne reveals that she just suffered a very emotional break up from a longtime boyfriend.

In later episodes, Julissa and Adrienne have the typical problems that young women have and other problems that are very specific to their choses fields of work. They deal with relationships with men, negative reviews, body image issues and the desire to plan a family. In one memorable moment, the rap singer Neyo bans Julissa from the recording studio. Another funny moment was when both girls were each set up on a blind date by their respective mothers.

The girls end the season hoping that they will get to film a second season. Empire Girls: Julissa & Adrienne has gotten very good reviews. One review described the pair as the Latin Laverne & Shirley.
