Ep 1. Death is a Company Policy

As the fifth season of Hawaii 5-0 kicks off, the team is back and ready for action. The first episode, titled "Death is a Company Policy," finds McGarrett and his team investigating a murder with strong ties to a large corporation.

The episode starts off with a young man named Liam, who is about to go on a job interview with an insurance company. He seems nervous, but determined to do well. However, before Liam can even make it to his interview, he is brutally gunned down in the middle of the street.

This understandably sets the 5-0 task force into motion. When they arrive on the scene, they quickly discover that the victim was carrying a folder with him, full of confidential papers from his current employer. The team believes that these papers may hold a clue as to why someone would want Liam dead.

The team starts to piece together Liam's life, starting with his current job. Liam worked for a large, powerful insurance company called Eneri Resources. The company's CEO, David Torillo, is known for his ambitious, cut-throat tactics. It comes to light that Liam was about to expose some shady dealings that were going on within the company.

As the 5-0 team digs deeper into this case, they begin to suspect that Torillo and Eneri Resources are behind Liam's murder. Initially, Torillo denies any involvement. However, McGarrett and the others slowly begin to peel away the layers of lies and deception that surround the crime.

To complicate matters, the team discovers that someone within the police department seems to be working with Eneri Resources. This discovery adds a new level of danger to an already hazardous investigation.

As the investigation progresses, Navy SEAL Lt. Commander Steve McGarrett (played by Alex O'Loughlin), Detective Danny Williams (played by Scott Caan), and the rest of the team face all kinds of challenges and obstacles. These include deadly shoot-outs, dangerous car chases, and some unexpected twists and turns.

While the focus of the episode is primarily on the murder investigation, there are plenty of character moments that will satisfy fans of the show. McGarrett and Williams continue to have their classic "odd couple" banter, while the rest of the team work together to solve the case.

All in all, "Death is a Company Policy" is a strong season premiere that sets the tone for the rest of the season. It's a tightly-plotted, action-packed episode that manages to balance both character development and suspenseful thrills. Fans of the show will definitely not be disappointed.
