Ep 5. They're Playing My Song

Virgil, the protagonist, tries to enter a music competition but his friend from the project, Lil' Romeo, gets selected instead. Meanwhile, the city is plagued by a strange electrical storm that seems to be causing damage and injuries to people. The storm is so strong that it causes even the power at school to go out. After giving up on entering the competition himself, Virgil goes along to watch Lil' Romeo perform. But during the show, the strange electrical storm strikes again, and Lil' Romeo displays strange electrical abilities that he apparently did not have before. Virgil becomes suspicious that these new powers might be caused by the electrical storm. He starts investigating by interrogating Lil' Romeo's father who is the sound engineer for the music competition. However, his efforts are in vain as the father is not forthcoming with information. Later on, during a music video shoot of Romeo's, the strange electrical storm strikes again and this time Romeo's powers go haywire. He can't seem to control his powers and becomes a danger to everyone on the set. While attempting to figure out where the storm came from and investigating the chaos that results, it's revealed that someone has been using a type of satellite technology to cause the storms and is using Lil' Romeo as a conduit for them. The situation escalates as the perpetrator uses Lil' Romeo's powers to cause another storm that has enough energy to destroy a whole city. As the perpetrator puts their plan into action, Virgil has to spring into action and use his own unique powers as Static Shock to try and stop the storm and foil the villain’s plans. In the end, Virgil is successful in stopping the villain and saving the city from destruction. The episode ends with Virgil and Lil' Romeo releasing a joint music album and thanking each other over their inspiring friendship that had been tested by Lil' Romeo's sudden superpowers.
