Ep 15. Guilty as Dick

Three words: Guilty as Dick. In this Season 2 episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun, all our favorite aliens are back and up to their usual antics. The episode starts with Dick (John Lithgow) feeling guilty about always being in charge of everything. He decides to try and relinquish control by giving everyone else a chance to make decisions, but his inability to let go quickly leads him to take charge again. Meanwhile, Sally (Kristen Johnston), Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), and Harry (French Stewart) all have their own problems to deal with.

Sally finds herself in a rut at the university where she works. She's tired of her job and feels like she's not contributing anything meaningful to society. Tommy, on the other hand, is struggling with school and has been getting bad grades. Harry is in a bit of a romantic pickle after accidentally getting involved with a married woman.

As always, the humor in this episode is top-notch. We see Dick trying to learn to play basketball from a group of school kids, and Sally's attempts to spice up her job by taking up a "bad girl" persona. There's also a hilarious scene where the aliens try to learn how to communicate with dogs by barking at them.

But as the episode progresses, it becomes clear that there's a deeper theme at play. Dick's struggle to let go of control is really a metaphor for the aliens' struggle to fit in on Earth. They all feel like outsiders who don't quite belong, and they're all trying to find their place in the world.

This culminates in a powerful scene near the end of the episode where the aliens all come together to talk about their individual problems. They realize that by helping each other, they can all overcome their own struggles. It's a heartwarming moment that shows just how much these characters have grown and developed since the beginning of the series.

In the end, everyone gets what they want. Dick learns to let go of control (at least a little bit), Sally finds a new sense of purpose in her work, Tommy improves his grades, and Harry even manages to salvage his relationship with the married woman. But more importantly, the aliens all come to understand that they're not alone in their struggles, and that they can rely on each other for support.

Overall, Guilty as Dick is a fantastic episode of 3rd Rock from the Sun. It's got all the humor and wackiness we've come to love from the show, but with a deeper, more meaningful message about connection, support, and finding our place in the world. Whether you're a die-hard fan of the series or just looking for a good laugh, this episode is definitely worth a watch.
