Ep 5. Attack

As the fifth episode of season one of Btoom! begins, our protagonist Ryouta Sakamoto is racing through the jungle in search of his missing friend, Katou. He's been separated from his fellow players for several hours now, and his sense of urgency is only heightened by the fact that Katou seems to have disappeared entirely.

Ryouta's journey is fraught with danger as he navigates through the dense underbrush, always on the lookout for potential foes. His senses are honed to a razor-sharp point as he listens for any sounds of movement or rustling that might indicate another player nearby. But despite his vigilance, Ryouta is soon ambushed by a pair of enemy combatants.

These two attackers are a couple, and they've been playing Btoom! together for quite some time. They're supremely confident in their skills, and they don't seem to be too worried about confronting Ryouta head-on. As they approach him, they hurl a volley of explosive "bims" his way, forcing him to retreat deeper into the jungle.

Ryouta knows that he'll be vulnerable to further attacks unless he can find some way to gain an advantage. Fortunately, he soon stumbles upon a hollowed-out tree that provides ample defensive cover. He ducks inside just as his attackers catch up to him, and they pepper the tree with more explosives, hoping to flush him out. But Ryouta is able to outsmart them, using his knowledge of the game's mechanics to land a powerful counterattack that sends the couple fleeing in terror.

This victory is short-lived, however, as Ryouta soon comes face to face with an even more dangerous opponent: a muscly, monstrous-looking man who calls himself "The Ogre." This guy is one of the most feared players in Btoom!, and Ryouta knows that he'll have to rely on more than just strategy to survive.

What follows is a tense game of cat and mouse as Ryouta dodges The Ogre's impossibly powerful attacks, using his wits to stay one step ahead at all times. He realizes that he'll need to get close to The Ogre if he wants to have any chance of defeating him, so he lures his opponent to a narrow crevice in the rocks. There, with The Ogre's movements restricted, Ryouta strikes.

The battle is fierce and brutal, with Ryouta taking hit after hit as he tries to bring down his enormous adversary. But just as it seems he's on the verge of defeat, Ryouta finds an unlikely ally in the form of another player named Himiko. She arrives just in time to provide a crucial distraction, allowing Ryouta to score the decisive blow and finally emerge victorious.

As the episode draws to a close, Ryouta and Himiko bond over their shared experiences in the game, and Ryouta realizes that he may have found a new friend and ally in his quest to survive. But even as he reflects on his hard-won victory, he knows that there are still countless dangers lurking in this deadly world, and that his next encounter could be his last.
