Many years ago, the magical Belt of Deltora was stolen by an evil sorcerer named the Shadow Lord. In an effort to defeat him and reclaim the Belt, a young orphan named Lief sets out on a perilous quest to find the seven missing gems that make up the Belt of Deltora. Along with his friends Barda and Jasmine, Lief travels through the dangerous and mysterious land of Deltora, facing all sorts of treacherous creatures and evil foes.
