  • June 4, 2012

In the sixteenth episode of the 2012 season of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, host Guy Fieri takes viewers on a culinary tour of Las Vegas, Nevada. The episode is appropriately titled "All Vegas, All the Time," and features four different restaurants that serve up some of the most delicious and unique dishes in Sin City.

The first stop on the tour is at the Lotus of Siam, a Thai restaurant that has received numerous accolades and awards over the years. Fieri meets with the owner and chef, Saipin Chutima, who shows him how to make her famous northern-style larb, a salad that contains ground meat, onions, herbs, and spices. Fieri also samples the restaurant's crispy duck with chili sauce, which is a fan favorite.

Next up is Eat., a small diner run by chef Natalie Young. The restaurant's menu features classic American comfort food with a twist, and Fieri tries the pork belly eggs Benedict, which is served with creamy hollandaise sauce and a side of hash browns. Young also shows Fieri how to make her famous pork and beans dish, which is slow-cooked with bacon, garlic, and other delicious ingredients.

For the third stop on the tour, Fieri heads to The Egg and I, a popular breakfast spot that has been a favorite of locals for years. He meets with the owner, Ray O'Connor, who shows him how to make the restaurant's signature dish, the O'Connor Omelet. This massive omelet contains 12 eggs and is filled with bacon, sausage, green peppers, onions, and cheese. Fieri also tries the restaurant's famous cinnamon roll, which is large enough to share with the entire table.

The final stop on the tour is at Raku, a Japanese restaurant that has been awarded a Michelin star. Fieri meets with the chef and owner, Mitsuo Endo, who shows him how to make a variety of dishes, including grilled beef tongue, chicken meatballs, and crispy pork belly. Endo also demonstrates how to make soba noodles from scratch, and Fieri tries a variety of different sushi rolls and sashimi.

Throughout the episode, Fieri provides a behind-the-scenes look at each restaurant and the chefs who operate them. He also shares his thoughts on each dish and gives viewers a glimpse into the culinary culture of Las Vegas. As always, his enthusiasm and passion for food are infectious, and viewers are sure to be inspired to try some of the dishes featured on the show at home or on their next visit to Las Vegas.
