Food Paradise is back with another fantastic episode, this time highlighting some of the best All-American Classics available in the country. The episode, titled All-American Classics, takes us on a journey to some of the most popular and classic dishes in the US.
Starting in the Mid-West, we visit Cincinnati, Ohio, to taste some of the best chili in the country. Cincinnati-style chili is not like regular chili, as it contains a secret spice blend and is usually served over spaghetti or hot dogs. We meet with a local chili expert to find out about the history of this unique dish and sample some incredible chili recipes.
Next, we head to Chicago, Illinois, where we taste some of the best deep-dish pizza in the world. We visit one of the oldest pizza joints in Chicago and learn about the origins of this iconic dish. We also explore the various toppings and varieties available, including classic favorites like sausage and pepperoni, as well as more experimental options like mac and cheese and taco pizza.
Continuing our search for America's best classic foods, we visit Nashville, Tennessee, to try the famous hot chicken. This spicy Southern staple is made from a blend of spices and fried chicken, served with pickles, bread, and coleslaw to cool the heat. We discover the history of hot chicken in Nashville and sample some of the best hot chicken creations the city has to offer.
Our next stop is in New York City, where we get a taste of the ultimate hamburger. In this food paradise, we explore the various toppings available, including cheese, bacon, and even donuts! We visit some of the most popular burger joints in the city and find out what makes their burgers so special.
Leaving the Big Apple, we travel down to Memphis, Tennessee, to try the classic BBQ ribs. In this food-grade, we explore Memphis' deep-rooted BBQ culture and learn the differences between the various styles of BBQ. We visit some of the best BBQ joints in Memphis and experience mouthwatering ribs, brisket, and pulled pork.
Moving on, we head to Denver, Colorado, to try the ultimate comfort food, the juicy Colorado-style burrito. These massive burritos are stuffed full of delicious ingredients like shredded beef, refried beans, rice, and cheese, and are topped with savory green chili sauce. We try some of the most popular burrito spots in Denver and discover what makes these burritos so satisfying.
Our last stop is in Louisiana, where we sample the flavorful Gumbo. This iconic Southern dish is made up of a mixture of spicy sausage, chicken, seafood and vegetables, served over rice. We visit some of the best gumbo restaurants in Louisiana and learn about the history and origins of this classic American recipe.
