In Greenleaf season 2 episode 15, titled "Two By Two," tensions between the Greenleaf family and their congregation reach a boiling point as they prepare for a special Sunday service. Bishop James Greenleaf (played by Keith David) is determined to heal the rift between the church and the community following a scandal that nearly destroyed their reputation. Meanwhile, his wife Lady Mae Greenleaf (played by Lynn Whitfield) struggles to reconcile her own convictions with those of her husband.

The episode opens with the Greenleafs holding a special service to welcome new members into their church. Bishop James delivers a sermon about the importance of forgiveness and unity, urging his congregation to come together in the face of adversity. However, not everyone is willing to overlook the past. Many members of the community are still hurt and angry over the church's role in covering up the abuse of a young woman by one of its pastors.

As tensions rise, Lady Mae finds herself pulled in two different directions. On one hand, she believes in her husband's message of forgiveness and reconciliation. On the other hand, she knows that the church must take responsibility for its past mistakes in order to move forward. Lady Mae confronts Bishop James about her concerns, but he brushes her off, insisting that he knows what is best for the church.

Meanwhile, Grace Greenleaf (played by Merle Dandridge) is struggling with her own personal demons. She is still haunted by the memory of her abusive ex-husband and is struggling to find the strength to move on. Her mother Lady Mae is no help, as she is more focused on maintaining the church's image than addressing her daughter's needs. Grace turns to her friend and fellow pastor Noah Kendall (played by Benjamin Patterson) for support, but their relationship is complicated by their romantic past.

As the Sunday service approaches, tensions come to a head. The congregation is divided, with some members choosing to leave the church in protest. Bishop James and Lady Mae must decide whether to stand by their beliefs or acknowledge the painful truth about their past. Grace must also make a difficult decision about her own future and whether or not to confront the trauma of her past.

In the end, "Two By Two" is a powerful episode about the importance of honesty, forgiveness, and healing. The Greenleaf family must confront the painful truth about their past in order to move forward and repair the damage that has been done. As the episode comes to a close, there is a sense of hope that the family will be able to overcome their differences and work together to build a stronger, more inclusive church community.
