Hot Bench Season 4 Episode 134 Bad Boy Bailout?!; Don't Threaten My Family!
- February 27, 2018
In this episode of Hot Bench, entitled "Bad Boy Bailout?!; Don't Threaten My Family!," Judge Tanya Acker presides over two cases with her fellow judges, Patricia DiMango and Michael Corriero.
In the first case, a woman loans money to her ex-boyfriend for a business venture, but when the business fails, he doesn't pay her back. She decides to take him to court to get her money back. The ex-boyfriend claims that the breakup was messy and emotional, and that she actually gave him the money as a gift. The judges need to determine whether this was a loan or a gift, and if the terms of the loan were clear.
Next up, a woman claims that her former best friend threatened her and her family's safety online, so she got a restraining order against her. The former friend is contesting the restraining order, saying that she never threatened violence and that she was just expressing her First Amendment right to free speech. The judges need to determine whether the actions taken by the former friend constituted a threat, and whether or not the restraining order should stand.
As with all Hot Bench cases, Judge Acker, DiMango, and Corriero will listen to both sides, ask tough questions, and come to a fair and just decision that resolves the disputes between the parties involved.
