- October 26, 2021
Hot Bench, now on its eighth season, continues to bring entertaining and engaging courtroom drama, where three judges tackle real-life cases. In season 8 episode 28, Salvaged Car Love; Flake Tahoe, the judges face two cases that involve vehicles, one of them is about a couple who buys a salvaged car and has issues with the seller, the other is about a woman who accuses her friend of damaging her car.
The first case involves a couple, James and Candace, who bought a salvaged car from a seller named Daniel. Candace claims that before they bought the car, Daniel assured them that it was in good condition and that it only needed minor repairs. However, the car ended up having significant issues, such as a cracked radiator and non-functional brakes. In addition, the title that Daniel provided to the couple did not indicate that the car was salvaged. James and Candace claim that they have spent over $5,000 to fix the car, and they now seek to recover their expenses from Daniel.
On the other hand, Daniel argues that he informed James and Candace that the car was a rebuilt salvaged vehicle, and that they acknowledged the risks involved in buying such a car. He claims that he asked them to sign a waiver stating that they understood the nature of the car before they made the purchase. Daniel also argues that James and Candace caused some of the damages themselves.
The second case involves a friendship that turned sour after a car incident. Nekeda claims that her friend, Flake, damaged her car by throwing a bicycle on it. Nekeda argues that Flake was upset because she owed him money, and he threw the bicycle in anger. She claims that the incident caused significant damages to her car, which cost her over $5,000 to repair. Nekeda now seeks to recover her expenses from Flake.
Flake, on the other hand, denies that he caused any damages to Nekeda's car. He argues that the bicycle he threw did not hit the car, and that Nekeda's claim is motivated by her desire to avoid paying him back the money she owes him. Flake also alleges that Nekeda has a history of not paying her debts and that she is using this case to avoid her obligations.
As with most Hot Bench cases, this episode is full of surprises and twists that keep the judges and the audience on their toes. Judge Tanya Acker, Judge Patricia DiMango, and Judge Michael Corriero are not afraid to ask tough questions and challenge the parties' arguments, making for an engaging and enlightening viewing experience. Salvaged Car Love; Flake Tahoe is a must-watch for car enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys good courtroom drama.
