In season 2 episode 12 of Man V Food, host Adam Richman travels to Washington, D.C. to explore the city's unique food scene. The episode starts off with a stop at Ben's Chili Bowl, a legendary eatery that has been serving up classic chili hot dogs since 1958. Richman samples the famous half-smoke sausage, which is topped with Ben's signature chili and melted cheese. He also tries their chili cheese fries and learns about the restaurant's rich history, including its role in the civil rights movement.

Next, Richman heads to The Big Cheese food truck, which specializes in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. He tries the classic grilled cheese, which is made with cheddar and swiss cheeses, but also samples some of the truck's more unique offerings, like the mac & cheese grilled cheese and the BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese.

For his next stop, Richman visits Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken, a popular eatery that combines two of America's favorite foods: doughnuts and fried chicken. Richman tries the classic fried chicken sandwich, which is served on a fluffy doughnut bun, as well as the buffalo chicken sandwich, which is also topped with blue cheese and ranch dressing. He also gets to try some of their unique doughnuts, like the PB&J and s'mores flavors.

Richman then heads to Ted's Bulletin, a retro-style diner that specializes in comfort food classics. He tries the famous "Walk of Shame" breakfast burrito, which is stuffed with scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, and cheddar cheese, topped with sausage gravy, and served with a side of tater tots. He also samples some of the diner's homemade pop tarts, including flavors like strawberry and bacon and egg and cheese.

The final stop on Richman's culinary tour of Washington, D.C. is Oohh's & Aahh's, a soul food spot that's been serving up down-home dishes since 2003. He tries the fried chicken, which is seasoned with a secret blend of spices and then coated in a crispy, flavorful breading. He also samples the mac & cheese, which is made with a five-cheese blend and baked to perfection.

Throughout the episode, Richman gets to meet the chefs and owners behind some of D.C.'s most beloved restaurants, and learns about the culinary traditions that have shaped the city's food scene. As always, he takes on some serious food challenges and offers plenty of entertaining commentary along the way. For anyone looking to explore D.C.'s tasty side, this episode of Man V Food is not to be missed.
